So here's a sampling of some images from a project I'm working on. There are little stories that go in the middle, each centered around a certain letter. The books they belong to are english workbooks for kids in other countries. There are 20 illustrations in all but these are a few of my favorites.

I LOVE the texture you are using in the background. How are you doing that? If I may ask...

To get that texture I just use the gradient tool in Photoshop, set the mode to "dissolve" and then set the gradient. Dissolve gives it a pixelated look which I then just hit with a Gaussian blur of about 1 to 2 pixels to soften it up a bit.
